HEALTH & SAFETY

We Love Cleaning Ltd are fully compliant with Health and Safety legislation, providing within this framework codes of conduct and practice to ensure safe working environments for both employees and clients. Our Health and Safety policy adheres to the guidelines laid down in The Management OF Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996 and Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR).

Our statement of general policy is :

  • To provide adequate control of the Health and Safety risks arising from our work activities
  • To consult with our employees on matters affecting their Health and Safety
  • To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment
  • To ensure safe handling and use of substances
  • To provide information, instruction and supervision for employees
  • To ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks and to give them adequate training
  • To prevent accidents and cases of work related health issues
  • To maintain safe and healthy working conditions
  • To review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals

The Directors of We Love Cleaning Ltd have full responsibility for ensuring that these aims are met.

 

RECRUITMENT

We Love Cleaning Ltd has a clearly defined and definitive procedure of recruitment which complies with current legislation and is based along the core values of fairness, openness and equal opportunities.

Appointments are made after each applicant has been assessed using the same methodology and are based on assessments of experience, skills and aptitude for the position.

Because of We Love Cleaning Ltd's strong belief that the businesses biggest asset is the people who work for it, recruitment policy and procedure is of paramount importance.

 

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

We Love Cleaning Ltd believes strongly that the people who work for the business are the business and consequently success or failure rests upon the effectiveness of all the staff - from one side of the business to the other.

Consequently, staff development and training is essential to achieve and maintain the highest standards that are required in the modern cleaning industry.

We Love Cleaning Ltd undertakes to :

  • Provide all management and staff with the opportunity to train on industry recognised courses
  • Provide all management and staff with periodical in house training
  • To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment
  • Maintain staff training records and audit such records on a regular basis to highlight training needs
  • Provide all management and staff with information on the latest legislation affecting the cleaning industry
  • Keep all staff informed of any changes to Company machinery and cleaning products and provide new training as required
  • Actively encourage all staff to take any positive steps that will develop their understanding and knowledge of the work they undertake
  • Support all staff, both financially and through flexibility, when they are seeking to do so

For purposes of review and determining the effectiveness of this policy, the Company Secretary will assume overall responsibility. Regular audit of the recruitment, complaints and disciplinary records will be undertaken to assist in the monitoring of the policy.

Employees who believe they have been subjected to unfair discrimination have recourse to the Company grievance procedure as laid down in the Company Handbook.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

We Love Cleaning Ltd is fully committed to the principle of carrying out its business in the most environmentally friendly way possible. The core objective of this policy is to demonstrate this aim in the practical day to day running of the business. Whilst recognising that our activities will impact, at times, in a detrimental way to the environment, we will nevertheless resolve to minimise that impact at all times and train our management and staff to apply best practice, whenever practical.

We Love Cleaning Ltd has several specific goals in its Environmental Management policy :

  • To prevent the creation of pollution
  • To comply with all existing and future environmental legislation
  • To manage energy and water usage as efficiently as possible
  • To reduce its use of aerosol products as far as possible
  • To recycle wherever possible and use recycled materials whenever possible
  • To train all staff to be environmentally aware

To achieve these goals, it is our stated aim to :

  • Audit our environmental performance on a regular basis through measurement of the key indicators
  • Incorporate our environmental policy and practical steps to take, into our staff training programme
  • Reward staff initiatives in the area of environmentally friendly procedures.

We Love Cleaning Ltd recognise that modern business practices need to be in step not only with legislation but also with current moral and ethical thinking. The Company believes that it has a responsibility not only to have a clear Environmental Management policy, but also to make sure of its implementation.
